The Gokenkan, ( 剛柔流 剛拳館) is a small private and traditional gojuryu karate dojo located in the North Central Indiana / Grant County area. we are an official branch (Shibu) of the Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do Kyokai - Okinawa, Japan. and of the Seikai Dentokan Bugei Renmei. We also serve as the USA Honbu Dojo for the International Gojuryu Karate Association.
Our objectives and activities focus on the preservation and practice of Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate according to the teachings of the founder, Master Chojun Miyagi. We also preserve and practice Okinawa Kobudo, Jujustu and Iaijutsu. We encourage the development of friendships and mutual respect through interaction via tournaments, seminars and global communication with those who share our interests.
